Intern Katie (2008)

Katie Orlando is a graduate of Franciscan University and been a part of the OTD community since it started in 2004. She was OTD’s first intern and is returning to serve for another summer. Katie currently lives in Atlanta and works with national Life Teen as the Life Support Assistant.

Katie enjoys most sports, Italian food, movies, her job, college students, dogs, On the Deck, her family, the beach, and aspires one day to start a kick-ball league (No, for real. I do).

Katie hopes you will come to OTD and encounter a community who wants to journey with you, pray with you, and laugh with you. She is excited for our 5th summer and knows that God wants to move in big ways.

Oh, and Katie thinks its weird that she has to write in 3rd person.

UPDATE: Katie is now married and living in Arizona

Intern Greg (2008)

Greg was born and raised in the swamps of southeast Louisiana (New Orleans) with his four siblings. He possesses one of the strangest collections of childhood stories, but he somehow found his way to Auburn University where he is currently a senior. Though raised Roman Catholic, it wasn’t until his college years that he realized just how real the Faith is and how beautiful it is that Christ died for us.

With this realization and by the grace of God, Greg made the switch from being a rock n roll drummer to being a worship leader. He has been leading worship for three years for retreats, college ministries and conferences.

In addition to writing, playing, recording and listening to music, Greg also enjoys saltwater fishing, full contact sports and almost anything outdoors.

UPDATE: Greg continues to study at Auburn U.

He was called to minister to the men completing theological studies for the priesthood and met completing training and/or education for the religious brotherhood. From 1991 until 1994 he was Dean of Admissions and Registrar at Washington Theological Union in Takoma Park, Maryland USA.

family time, line-dancing, painting, live music, reading, and the outdoors, especially knee-boarding because it involves boats, friends, and lakes.

Danielle is pumped about journeying to the south for the second time, after spending 5 weeks last summer at Lifeteen Covecrest Camp in Tiger, GA. She is thrilled to be working as an intern for On the Deck and is excited about meeting all of you at our On the Deck nights.
